If you end up liking them Peeks - the other band you need to look into is Demons and Wizards - it is a collaboration from Schaffer from Iced Earth and Hansi from Blind Guardian (lead singer/writer for them)
It is a really good combination - you get the shredding that Schaffer is good for, and the vocals of Hansi (very middle-earthish, almost mintrel like at times)
Their first album was wicked - and I am just waiting for the second one from those two.

I think they first two albums had a different lead singer, and that didn't work out due to the guy wanting to be in a "popular" band, not one that was in it for the music and not the money/fame of it all. He was switched out for Barlow which was an excellent singer - and he was there through 3 albums over 7 years - he left when they were doing the last album due to wanting to take a role into Homeland Security after 9-11. He felt it was more important for him to do that then continue to work with the band. So he left and they picked up the guy that was filling in for Halford in Preist.
Barlow and Schaffer mixed well and got along from the sounds of it, there was just something in Barlow that got shook with 9-11 that made him change his direction, nothing with the band or music to force that, something internally to him.
Tim and John Schaffer get a long real well and they both seem to be really meshing on Glorous Burden and currently writing the next album which is supposed to be a follow up to the "story line" set up in the Somthing Wicked album - like a Part 2

Darth - I completely forgot about that album having the cover that it does!
That is where they wetn back and redid the previous 3 albums with Barlow (who sang on Burnt Offerings) to bring their catalog up to date with him as a steady lead singer.
Gives you a good introduction to their music, and to why they selected Barlow as their lead singer a that time.

I never followed Danzig that closely, so I didn't have the association, but seeing the pic you showed and looking at Tom..well, now I see it
On a side note Iced Earth isn't bad at all! Been sampling over at Tower *sigh* I needed another new band to spend money on.
